Secret to Success:
“Running a successful business starts with a well-reasoned strategy and building the right team."
Bradley K. Andrews is Founder, President and CEO, of Provide Nutrition LLC, a leader in developing nutrition products for healthcare, sports and fitness and consumer markets. Andrews has worked in healthcare distribution, manufacturing and sales for more than 30 years and started Provide Nutrition because he saw a need in the industry and an opportunity to provide innovative products that deliver increased quality to the market.
One of the Provide Nutrition® offerings is a highly concentrated liquid protein product called Provide Gold™. It was designed to help its customers, including patients in hospitals, nursing homes, and homecare, to get the protein-related nutrients efficiently. These are needed to help the body heal faster when used within a professional healthcare setting.
There are a number of professional athletes and trainers that also recommend and use Provide Gold™. Athletes representing nearly 40 professional sports teams love the benefits Provide Gold™ offers, including Emmett White, a Professional Fitness Trainer and former All-American Running Back at Utah State University, “For me what stood out most was it is absorbed in the body quickly, it increases strength and shortens recovery time after a workout, and it tastes good. I found that clients could take an ounce of Provide Gold™ after weight training was done and that within 15 minutes could be ready to do a full cardio work without any ill effects like sickness and vomiting”.
Andrews has been affiliated with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) since founding Provide Nutrition in 2007. “The local SBDC Team has been very helpful as our company continues to grow. They were effective in helping to build our original financials and continue to assist in things like strategic planning. They are very active in providing help and support where they can”.
Andrews has been an entrepreneur and small business owner a number of times throughout his career. When asked what advice he would give to other entrepreneurs or business owners, Andrews replied “Listen to your potential customers, create a presence with an innovative product and then load the channel with additional products to create growth and long-term value. Build the track, and then load the train”.
He also suggested other start-up companies avoid start-up hazards. He says the best way to do that is by finding mentors and other experienced entrepreneurs and small business owners to help you. “If you don’t know where you’re going, ASK. When I decided it was time to start my own business, a friend that I have great respect gave me some good advice. He said, ‘don’t try to do it alone, it’s too hard.’ He was right and I’ve benefitted greatly from following that advice.”
Following this advice, Andrews is active in mentoring others in the Utah entrepreneurial community. He has been recognized for his community involvement on a number of occasions and in 2010 was named the Entrepreneur of the Year by the NorthFront Business Alliance. He has also recently been featured in an article in Forbes Magazine.
