Eveready Staffing and Training, LLC of Ogden, Utah is not a typical staffing agency. Eveready Staffing’s primary focus is on making the most ideal employment match whether for a swift assignment or for a more complex placement. “We partner with other businesses and we help people find the right placement,” said Diane Bell, the agency’s owner. “What we do best is help identify exactly what businesses need, and then help them find the best candidate(s) to meet those needs.”

Eveready Staffing and Training serves businesses and job seekers in Davis, Salt Lake and Weber Counties. The company presently employs nearly 80 individuals through Eveready’s extended network of participating businesses.

A small number of employees work in house, while the remainder are on an assignment with partnering businesses. “We take a lot of care in making a good fit,” says Bell. “For many assignments we go over what the job entails and what the employee should be prepared for before starting a new assignment. Our employees and our employers know that we are committed to creating a successful opportunity for everyone.”

Prior to launching the business in 2009, Bell enrolled in business classes and workshops offered through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in Ogden for lending and tax assistance. I had never owned a business before, it wasn’t something that I was familiar with, said Bell. I needed someone who could walk with me and look at the business objectively.

Bell continued to access business support services from the SBDC after the company’s launch for assistance with QuickBooks, a business plan and to acquire additional funding to support the business’s growth. In 2012 Bell received a business loan from Zions Bank which helped the agency to successfully graduate from the Entrepreneurial Center, a business incubator at the Davis Applied Technology Center. Bell now conducts operations in house, in an office located on 12th Street in Ogden. 

The SBDC recognizes the accomplishments of Eveready Staffing and Training. “Diane is a ball of fire, I am in awe at how much energy Diane puts into the business,” said Beverly King, SBDC Director. “For three consecutive years, on average, Eveready’s sales have doubled (annually). This accelerated growth rate has required creativity and unique solutions.”

Reflecting on her experiences as a business owner, Bell says, “What I enjoy most about the staffing process is the relationships that we build. For example, one of our very first employees we placed is Fernando Rios who was originally hired to work on a production line for Sports Molding, Incorporated. After working with Sports Molding for 12 months through us, Fernando was hired and promoted to be a Quality Assurance Inspector. He has held this position for more than two years. It has been really great to see how individual lives change as a result of their experiences with Eveready.”
