What started as a side project to help out friends and family turned into a growing Springville business. Kelly Bronson and his wife, Jennifer, opened CNG Complete in response to the large demand they were experiencing for CNG installations. With gas prices hitting all time highs, consumers had started looking for cheaper fueling options. From there Kelly explained, “the business basically grew itself.”

CNG Complete is a full-service natural gas conversion shop that installs and repairs compressed-natural-gas (CNG) conversion kits for automobiles. Bronson explains that conversions allow consumers a more affordable and greener fuel source.

After six months in business, the Bronson’s started seeking funds to grow. They were referred by their bank to the Orem Small Business Development Center (SBDC). Jennifer explained, “while meeting with SBDC advisor, Shaun Wilson, he helped us with our business plan, applications, financial projections, business strategy, time-line, and pitch presentation. It was a huge relief for us, because it was an area we knew nothing about. Shaun helped us get the additional funding we needed to improve and grow our business. We wouldn’t have made it through without it.”

Since opening, CNG Complete has developed an excellent reputation with consumers; some even traveling from Salt Lake to receive services. Jennifer recommends, “business owners need to know how to market and figure out what works best, while remembering that there is no manual to running a business, so you must have a good plan.”

While Kelly is still focused on helping family and friends, he is continually thinking about the future of CNG Complete and hopes to open another service shop and CNG fueling station in the community so consumers have easier access to natural gas. He says the greatest reward in running his own business is the positive feedback he receives from customers for a job well done.
