Located in American Fork, Bella Vida Laser & Aesthetics LLC is a clinic specializing in laser hair removal, microdermabrasion, & chemical peel treatments that help people keep their skin looking healthy and beautiful. Raelyn attributes much of her current success to developing a strong rapport with clients, being personable and providing real results at affordable prices.
Raelyn Robinson worked for eight years in the aesthetics industry. Working as a licensed aesthetician, teacher, and salon manager she found many clinics were not meeting the needs and expectations of their clients. “I had noticed over the years why many clinics failed and I saw firsthand many of the avoidable pitfalls clinics fall in. I felt if I applied what I had learned and started my own business, I could provide better service, make more money, have more freedom, and also create jobs for other people.”
While evaluating the possibility of starting a business, a friend recommended that Raelyn meet with a business advisor at the Eagle Mountain Small Business Development Center (a satellite office of the Orem SBDC ). During appointments with her SBDC business advisor, Shaun Wilson, Raelyn learned that she would need $24,000 to open her business. For the next few months Raelyn worked with Shaun, refining her business model and presentation pitch. After relentless revisions and fine tuning, Raelyn presented her business plan to a committee representing Mountainland Revolving Loan Fund to secure her start-up capital. On the day of the presentation the funding the board was so impressed with Raelyn and her business model, they offered her $6,000 more than she was asking for. Three weeks later Raelyn opened her doors for business.
Since opening, Bella Vida has performed exceptionally well and continues to reach new clientele on a weekly basis. When asked what’s next, Raelyn says she’d love to open a new location, expand her service offerings, and hire more aestheticians to serve clients. When asked about the greatest joy in owing a business, Raelyn explains, “There is a sense of pride in seeing Bella Vida succeed. When my clients are happy and they start referring their friends, and when people say it’s the best treatment they’ve ever had, it’s a confirmation that I’m doing it right. It’s also very rewarding to work on my own terms, and have the freedom to do what I want.”
