Mark Holmes has been involved in business administration in a several capacities since the early 1980’s. Holmes has successfully owned and subsequently sold two companies in the high tech sector. In addition to his experience as a profitable business owner, Holmes has managed a variety of retail operations and has also held the position of Chief Financial Officer for an Association of Hospitals.
After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Utah State University, Holmes obtained a second baccalaureate degree in Accounting. With a thirst for knowledge concerning small businesses, Holmes subsequently completed a Masters Degree program in Business Administration where he wrote his thesis on the methods of competition between small businesses and large national chains.
Holmes has instructed coursework on subjects such as, accounting, management of people and organizations, entrepreneurship, and marketing. Holmes currently serves the State of Utah as a Regional Director for the Utah Small Business Development Centers, and was awarded “Minority Small Business Advocate of the Year” in 2001 by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
