The Business Resource Center in Tooele includes a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and works directly under the Tooele County Department of Economic Development. The SBDC is funded through the gracious support from Tooele County and in-kind support from Utah State University (USU).

SBDC services include business planning, marketing assistance, financial forecasting and counseling for general business concerns. The SBDC offers a class every Monday from 5pm-6pm that provides an overview on the foundations of writing a business plan. The SBDC also offers trainings for software programs (such as QuickBooks), and monthly workshops on small business development at the USU campus. Expert business consults are available to assist small business owners and entrepreneurs to successfully launch or grow their business.

The Tooele SBDC works in partnership with the Business Expansion And Retention program for Tooele County, the Tooele County Chamber of Commerce, the Department of Workforce Services, Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and the Tooele Applied Technical College–in addition to many other local organizations to maximize collaboration and networking opportunities for clients. The center also partners with the USU School of Business to provide students internship opportunities. Students from the School of Business work with the SBDC to help small business clients conduct research and address business needs.
